Can I Fail A Drug Test?

It is very unlikely that you would fail a drug test with federally legal CBD products because CBD is not a drug. To be federally legal the CBD product must contain .3% or less THC. That is not enough THC to provide any intoxicating side effects or show up on a drug test.

At CBD BioCare, our oil contains virtually no THC. Once the oil is first extracted, the THC is further isolated and removed. Most often our oil testing shows no detectable amounts of THC in our tinctures. But at times there are legal trace amounts present. This amount is so low it would not show up on standard drug tests.

It is important to note that when an employer is testing your urine, they can set the limits in terms of what constitutes a positive or negative result. Most companies follow the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) guidelines. For THC, according to the SAMHSA, this limit is 50ng/ml. This means that if the urine tested has below this amount in it, the result will be negative. Anything at that level or above would be positive.

If you are concerned, it is always our recommendation to talk with whomever may be testing you prior to using any of the products to ensure you don't have any issues. We have heard of numerous employers allowing employees to use CBD hemp products once they have had the chance to research them.

For all ingestible products you can scan the QR code on the label to view the certificate of analysis (COA) of your product. You can share these test results with your employer.
